The office of the Sheriff for the County of Gage has existed since 1857. The Sheriff holds an elected office, which is voted on by the citizens of the county. The Sheriff is elected to a four year term and he or she may serve additional terms if re-elected by the citizens.

The Gage County Sheriff’s office has expanded the use of the Nebraska.gov PayPort service to include the Gage County Jail.
All handgun permits for Gage County, with the exception of Wymore residents, are obtained at the Beatrice Police Department at 201 N 5th Street. Residents of Wymore may obtain their handgun permits at the Wymore Police Department at 302 S 6th Street. If you have any questions, please call 402.223.4080.

On 08-28-14 at 1025 hours, Odell Fire and Rescue and the Gage County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a single vehicle injury accident on SW 61st Road between Spruce and Sycamore Road.
LOCATION: U.S. Hwy 77 south of W. Oak Road (5 miles south of Beatrice)

OFFENSE: One Vehicle Injury Accident
The Gage County Sheriff’s Office along with Beatrice Fire & Rescue and Beatrice Rural Fire Departments responded to a one vehicle injury accident near W. Oak Road on U.S. Highway 77.

LOCATION: Juniper and Southwest 45th Road
OFFENSE: Two Arrested for Manufacturing Methamphetamine

On August 12, 2014 at approximately 0430 Hours, Gage County Deputies located a vehicle on West Juniper just west of Southwest 45th Road that appeared to need assistance.
