The office of the Sheriff for the County of Gage has existed since 1857. The Sheriff holds an elected office, which is voted on by the citizens of the county. The Sheriff is elected to a four year term and he or she may serve additional terms if re-elected by the citizens.

On February 5, 2010 at approximately 2130 hours, Gage County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a two vehicle accident south of Wymore near Plum Road.
