CASE:  2008-4913

On October 13th 2008 the Gage County Sheriff's Office and Marshall County Kansas Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a male subject tearing his truck up and acting suspicious.  Marshall County Sheriff's Office spoke with the 52 year old Eric Brox of Lincoln and it was believed that there may have been a female with him while in Gage and Marshall Counties, however, this has not been confirmed and search efforts are to rule out any possible foul play.

A search was then conducted, Sunday October 13th, in the immediate area surrounding the incident site utilizing the Gage County Sheriff's K-9, Nebraska State Patrol helicopter and deputies from Gage County and Marshall County Sheriff's Office on foot.  No female was located.

On October 15th the Gage County Sheriff's Office received additional information from the Lincoln Police Department in reference to Eric Brox.  Lincoln authorities advised that while conducting an interview with Mr. Brox he told them that he was down in the Gage County area with his fiancée Ann Kelley, which also has not been confirmed.

On October 16th the Gage County Sheriff's Office, Marshall County Sheriff's Office, Gage County Emergency Management Agency, a search dog from Lincoln, Nebraska State Patrol helicopter, and Kansas State Patrol helicopter searched approximately five square miles surrounding the initial incident scene from Sunday.

On October 17th a command center was set up at S.120th & Willow Road.  The Gage County Sheriff's Office, Marshall County Sheriff's Office, Gage County Emergency Management, members of the Marshall County Mounted Posse, in conjunction with Oketo, KS Fire Department members searched approximately six square miles utilizing horses, volunteers on foot, and ATVs.  No persons were located.

The Gage County Sheriff's Office would like to thank all personnel and agencies who assisted in any way, shape or form.

Sheriff Millard "Gus" Gustafson
