Injury Accident SW 61st Rd & W Willow Rd

On October 24, 2008, the Gage County Sheriff's Office, Odell QRT, Wymore Rescue, and Beatrice Rescue responded to a one vehicle injury accident. The accident was located south of Odell at the intersection of SW 61st Road and W. Willow Road.
Upon arrival, a blue 2005 Pontiac G6 was observed sitting in the cornfield southwest of the intersection facing southeast. The driver was identified as Robert Luallin, 41, of Humboldt, NE and the passenger, Desiree Winstead, 27, of Marysville, KS were being treated by rescue personnel. It was determined that the car was being driven south on SW 61st Road and failed to negotiate the curve in the road. The car crossed the lanes of traffic and entered the triangle median. The car continued in a southerly direction and contacted the raised roadway of W. Willow Road and became airborne. The car landed about 32 feet south of W. Willow Road in the cornfield and skidded to a stop.
The driver and passenger were transported to Beatrice Community Hospital for medical treatment of their injuries. Excessive speed and alcohol were factors in the accident. Seatbelt usage is unknown.
