Injury Accident 1/2 Mile West of SW 42nd Road on Pickrell Road

On September 24th, 2009 Gage County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on Pickrell Road approximately ½ mile west of Southwest 42nd Road. Upon arrival, deputies located 25-year-old Adam D. Sobotka of DeWitt injured at the scene.
Earlier, Gage County Communications advised deputies of a complaint of a vehicle speeding westbound on Pickrell Road from Highway 77. A short time later, deputies were advised that vehicle had been involved in an accident and had rolled over.
The driver of the vehicle, Sobotka, had been traveling westbound on Pickrell Road when he lost control of his vehicle and traveled into the south ditch where the vehicle rolled and arrived at final rest on its top. Sobotka was taken from the accident via Star Care V for his injuries.
Seatbelts were not in use and alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing concerning other items located inside the vehicle.
Responding agencies to the accident were Pickrell QRTs, Beatrice Fire and Rescue, Star Care V, and Gage County Sheriff’s Office.
