Meth Lab Located at Between Gage and Apple Roads on SW 142nd Road

On September 30th, 2009, Gage County Communications advised Sheriff’s deputies of a possible methamphetamine lab in the ditch on SW 142nd Road between Gage and Apple Roads. Upon arrival, Deputy Schley observed several pieces of a meth lab in the ditch including a 2½ gallon gas can that contained anhydrous ammonia. The Gage County Sheriff’s Office Clan Lab Team was activated and Sgt. Joe Kubicek responded. Kubicek rendered the lab site safe and members of the Drug Enforcement Agency Hazardous Materials Team responded to clean up the site. The Gage County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation with leads of the parties responsible for the lab site.
In 2009, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office Clan Lab Team has responded to over ten incidents concerning methamphetamine production in Gage County. The Gage County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public that if they encounter a meth lab or anything related to it to contact the Gage County Sheriff’s Office to report the findings. Do not touch or move anything, as the chemicals and items used are hazardous materials and can be dangerous.
Responding agencies to the incident were the Gage County Sheriff’s Office Clandestine Methamphetamine Laboratory Team, Clatonia Fire and Rescue, and the Drug Enforcement Agency.
