Injury Accident 1/4 Mile North of Chestnut Road on Highway 77

On Tuesday October 6, 2009 the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, Pickrell QRTs, Beatrice Fire and Rescue, and Star Care Air Ambulance responded to a one vehicle rollover accident that occurred approximately ¼ mile north of Chestnut Road on Highway 77.  A Chevrolet Impala driven by 59 year old Nancy Probst of Beatrice was traveling south on Highway 77 when she swerved to avoid debris in the roadway.  Probst lost control of the vehicle, spun approximately 180 degrees, exited the roadway to the right, and entered the west ditch.  The Impala rolled over one and a half times before coming to rest in the west ditch.  Highway 77 was closed for approximately 20 minutes due to the accident.

Probst was transported by helicopter to BryanLGH West Hospital in Lincoln for life threatening injuries.

Seat belts were being utilized during the accident.
