Arson at S 176th & Cherry Roads

On 12-6-09, Beatrice Communications received a report of a small fire in an abandoned school house at the intersection of S 176th and Cherry Roads.  Adams Fire was dispatched to the scene.  When they arrived, they extinguished a small fire inside the doorway of the school house.  Found at the scene was a plastic jug that possibly contained an accelerant that was used to start the fire.  A Nebraska State Fire Marshall was dispatched to the scene to investigate the fire.  Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact the Gage County Sheriff’s Office at 402-223-5222 or Crime Stoppers at 402-228-4343.
