Injury Accidents Involving 13 Vehicles on Highway 4 Between SW 117th & SW 131st Roads

On February 14, 2010, at approximately1200 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, Homestead Parks Service, Beatrice Fire and Rescue, Beatrice Rural Fire, Plymouth Fire and Rescue, and Dewitt Fire and Rescue responded to accidents involving 13 vehicles on Highway 4 between SW 117th and SW 131st Roads. The accidents were the result of the whiteout conditions and snow covered roads. Six people involved in the accidents were transported to Beatrice Community Hospital by DeWitt Fire and Rescue, Plymouth Fire and Rescue, and Beatrice Fire and Rescue. Due to the amount of vehicles and people involved, the types of vehicles and the names of people involved are not being released as of February 14, 2010. The accidents are still under investigation by the Gage County Sheriff’s Office and more information will be released at a later date.
