Fatality Tractor Accident

OFFENSE:  Tractor Accident / Fatality

CASE:  2010-1876        
 
On Monday, May 3, 2010 at approximately 0735 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office and Beatrice Fire and Rescue responded to a unknown medical call located at 2954 E. Hwy 136 Beatrice, Nebraska. 

Upon arriving on location, it was discovered that 55-year-old Chuck Benash of rural Beatrice was deceased in his pasture which is located just south of the residence.  It appears that Mr. Benash was working in his pasture when the tractor he was utilizing ran over him pinning him under the rear wheel. 

It was later discovered that Mr. Benash was last observed on the tractor the evening before at approximately 1800 hours.  It is believed that he had been pinned under the tractor since that time.  Mr. Benash was pronounced dead at the scene.  No autopsy will be performed. 

Next of kin have been notified.
