Injury Accident at S 43rd Road & Locust Road

On Tuesday, May 18, 2010, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, Beatrice Rescue, Star Care helicopter, and the Beatrice Rural Fire Department responded to a two vehicle accident which occurred at the intersection of S. 43rd and Locust Roads.
A 2010 Ford Taurus driven by 26 year old Traci Dragoo of Holmesville was driving northbound on S. 43rd Road when she met a 2008 Ford Focus being driven by 77 year old Wanda Cozine of rural Beatrice. Mrs. Cozine’s car was traveling southbound on S. 43rd road when the two vehicles collided on the curve located at S. 43rd & Locust Roads.
Mrs. Cozine was transported by Star Care helicopter to BryanLGH West for injuries sustained in the accident and Ms. Dragoo was transported by Beatrice Rescue to Beatrice Community Hospital for her injuries which she sustained due to the accident.
Air bags were deployed in both vehicles and seatbelts were being utilized during the accident. Alcohol is not a factor in the accident and the investigation continues.
