Inmate Death

On July 9, 2010 at approximately 1130 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office and Beatrice Fire and Rescue responded to the Gage County Detention Center in reference to an unresponsive inmate. The inmate, 73 year old Cecil T. Creek of Beatrice, was found in his cell unresponsive by his cell mate, 19 year old Corde G. Honea.  Gage County Corrections Officers immediately conducted CPR and used an AED on Creek.  Creek was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital by Beatrice Fire and Rescue where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of death is currently unknown and the case is still under investigation by the Gage County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol.
