Single Vehicle Injury Accident 1/2 Mile West of S.W. 75th Road on Scott Road

On Saturday July 10, 2010 the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, Beatrice Rescue, Star Care and the Beatrice Rural Fire Department responded to a one vehicle rollover accident which occurred approximately ½ mile west of S.W. 75th Road on Scott Road.

A 1991 Ford F150 pickup driven by 19 year old Christopher Anderson of Beatrice was driving westbound on Scott Road when he struck wash boards in the road losing control of the vehicle. The vehicle ran off of the road to the right entering the north ditch.  The vehicle then came back up onto the roadway and then re-entered the north ditch rolling once coming to rest on its wheels.  16 year old Matthew Anderson of Beatrice and 20 year old Zachary Klar of Lincoln were passengers in the vehicle.

Both Christopher and Matthew Anderson reported injuries sustained in the accident.  Christopher did not seek medical attention at the time of the accident and Matthew Anderson was taken by private vehicle to Beatrice Community Hospital.  Zachary Klar was transported by Beatrice Rescue to the Southeast Community College parking lot where he was transferred over to Star Care helicopter and was transported to Bryan LGH West in Lincoln. 

Air bags were not deployed and seat belts were being utilized by all occupants.  Alcohol is not a factor in the accident and citations are pending as the investigation continues.
