OFFENSE:   DUI

CASE:  2010-3199

On July 13, 2010, Beatrice Communications received a report of a two vehicle non-injury accident at S. 148th and E. Cedar Road. When deputies arrived, it was determined that two separate accidents had occurred.

The first accident occurred when a 17 year old Crab Orchard male was driving southbound on S. 148th Road and swerved to miss a deer. The vehicle that the juvenile was driving was a 2003 Chevy Silverado Pickup. The pickup entered the west ditch, overcorrected, entered the east ditch, once again overcorrected which caused it to enter the west ditch and strike a utility pole.  While the juvenile and another person were attempting to pull the pickup out of the ditch, a southbound 2006 Ford Escape driven by 55 year old Terry A. Ideus of Adams struck the 2003 Chevy Silverado. Ideus’ vehicle came to rest in the west ditch.

Neither driver was injured in either of the accidents.  Airbags were deployed in the Chevy Silverado. Seatbelts were not utilized in the Chevy pickup and alcohol is considered to be a factor. The male juvenile was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Minor in Possession of Alcohol.
