CASE #: 2011-5342

On September 26, 2011, deputies of the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a vehicle complaint in Blue Springs.  The reporting party advised that a black vehicle was tearing around by their house.  The RP was able to provide the vehicle’s license number and a routine check showed that vehicle was stolen out of Jefferson County.

The deputy was unable to locate the vehicle in Blue Springs; however, another deputy did locate the vehicle traveling north near S. 36th and Locust.  The deputy turned around and attempted to stop the vehicle.  A short pursuit ensued before the driver of the stolen vehicle drove it into a cornfield and the three subjects inside the vehicle fled on foot through the cornfield.

Two of the occupants were apprehended, both male juveniles.  A search for the third suspect was undertaken with assistance from the Beatrice Police Department and the Nebraska State Patrol air-wing.  The third subject, also a juvenile male, was not located and it is believed that he may have called somebody to come pick him up and take him from the scene.

Anybody with any information is asked to call the Gage County Sheriff’s Office via Gage County Communications at 402-223-5221 or call Gage County Crime Stoppers at 402-228-4343.  Crime Stoppers callers may be eligible for a cash reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect and all calls are confidential.
