Accident Results in DUI

On December 30th, 2011, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an accident that occurred near the intersection of 4th & Sheridan Streets in Cortland. When deputies arrived, they observed a white four door Jeep that had hit a power pole breaking it off at the ground. Deputies identified the driver as Seth Ossowski, 21 of Cortland. An investigation resulted in Ossowski being placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Careless Driving.

Ossowski was not injured in the accident and seatbelts were not in use. Norris Public Power was contacted and replaced the damaged power pole. Cortland Fire & Rescue assisted in securing the area due to the unstable power pole.
