Two Vehicle Injury Accident at S 148th Road and Levi Lane

On 03-29-12 at around 1527 hrs, Adams Fire, Adams Rescue and the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a two vehicle injury accident at S 148th Road and Levi Lane, west of Adams. A 1997 Mercury Marquis Grand driven by 93 year old Edna Walker of Adams, was traveling east on Levi Lane and drove on to S 148th Road, where it was struck by a southbound tractor trailer driven by 55 year old Dean Schoneweis of rural Adams. Ms. Walker was injured in the collision. She was transported by ground ambulance to Bryan LGH West for treatment. The extent of her injuries are unknown at this time. The airbags in Ms. Walker’s vehicle did deploy. It is unknown if she was using her seat belt. Mr. Schoneweis may have sustained minor injuries, but refused treatment at the scene. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor in the accident. The accident investigation is ongoing.
