Injury Accident at SW 103 Rd & W Hickory Rd

On Monday, June 25th, 2012 at 1753 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, Beatrice Fire and Rescue, Beatrice Rural Fire, and Star Care V responded to a two vehicle injury accident that occurred at the intersection of Southwest 103rd and West Hickory Roads.
A 1997 Chevrolet Blazer driven by 28 year old Shawn M. Parrott of Plymouth was traveling westbound on West Hickory Road. A 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by 42 year old Roni J. Fikar of Wilber was traveling southbound on Southwest 103rd Road. The Blazer failed to stop at the stop sign, entered the intersection at Southwest 103rd and West Hickory Road, and collided with the Grand Prix.
Roni J. Fikar was transported to BryanLGH West in Lincoln by Star Care V for her injuries and Shawn Parrott did not sustain any injuries. Air bags did not deploy in the Grand Prix and seatbelts were being utilized by the driver in that vehicle. The driver’s side air bags did deploy in the Blazer but the driver was not utilizing his seat belt. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident. Parrott was cited for the Stop Sign Violation.
