Injury Accident ½ West of SW 61 Road on W PWF Road

OFFENSE: Single Vehicle Injury Accident

On 07-01-12 at around 0553 hours, Odell Fire and Rescue, Beatrice Fire and Rescue, and the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a single vehicle accident ½ mile west of SW 61st Road (Odell Black Top) on W PWF Road. The subsequent investigation indicated that a red 1999 Chevrolet Camero, driven by 17 year old Cody Engelman of Diller, was traveling westbound on W PWF Road. Approximately ½ mile west of SW 61st road, the vehicle left the roadway and entered the north ditch. It continued west in the ditch and struck a field drive. The vehicle became airborne for a short distance and then landed in the ditch west of the field drive, and then finally came to rest on the north slope of the ditch. Mr. Engelman was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital due to complaints of pain. There were no other occupants of the vehicle. Restraints were in use. Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be a factor.
