Click It or Ticket Grant

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office had been selected to participate in the Click It or Ticket grant provided by the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.This grant allows the Sheriff’s Office to utilize extra full-time, part-time and reserve deputies.  All the mileage and overtime is reimbursed for the grant.  Deputies were on saturated patrol and conducted several speeding selectives throughout the county.   
 
The goal of the Click It or Ticket mini-grant is to raise awareness of the drivers throughout Gage County to utilize the seatbelts for the safety of the motoring public.  The deputies conducted 88.5 extra hours of road patrol and logged 1,657 extra miles during the grant.  Deputies issued 130 warnings and 20 citations.  5 people were arrested on outstanding warrants and 3 people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
