One Vehicle Roll Over Accident

DETAILS:
On May 27, 2008 Deputies of the Gage County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one vehicle roll over accident on Chestnut Road between Southwest 72^nd and Southwest 58^th Roads. Investigation reveled that Laci Armstrong 22 years of age of Pickrell, was driving a 2006 Chevy Colbat eastbound on Chestnut Road when she lost control of the vehicle and entered the south ditch sideways, and rolled the vehicle two and a half times before coming to rest in a cornfield. The passenger of the vehicle 22 year old Sabrina Jurgens also of Pickrell was ejected from the vehicle and thrown approximately fifty feet from the vehicle. Jurgens was taken by Star Care V to Bryan LGH West and Armstrong was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital for their injuries.

The passenger seatbelt was not in use and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident. The accident is still under investigation.

Responding units to the accident were the Pickrell Fire Dept., Beatrice Rescue, Star Care V, and the Gage County Sheriffs Office.
