Big Indian Lake Jet Ski Accident

On Saturday June 7th, 2008 the Gage County Sheriff’s Office and Beatrice
Fire & Rescue, Odell Fire Department, and Wymore Rescue responded
to a Jet Ski accident which occurred at Big Indian Lake. A 1998 Polaris
Jet Ski driven by 34 year old Jason Schriner of Wymore was driving toward
the damn when he attempted to turn the Jet Ski. He could not get
the Jet Ski to turn and struck the concrete spillway of the damn.
The Jet Ski came to rest against the rocks on the dam. Another
boat came up and assisted Mr. Schriner and his 5 year old son out of
the water. His 5 year old son was riding on the Jet Ski with him
when the accident occurred.
Mr. Schriner and his son were treated by rescue personnel on scene and then got a ride from a friend to the Beatrice Community Hospital for injuries they sustained in the accident. Life jackets were being used and alcohol is a factor in the accident.
