"You Drink and Drive, You Lose" Grant

The Gage County Sheriff's Office was selected to participate in the national D.U.I. “You Drink and Drive, You Lose” campaign.  The dates of the grant period were from December 4, 2009 to January 2, 2010.  The grant allowed deputies to participate only on Fridays and Saturdays.  The mini-grant was sponsored by the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.  All overtime and road patrol miles will be reimbursed to Gage County.  During this period, 45 traffic stops were made and three resulted in driving under the influence arrests.  18 outstanding warrant arrests and two arrests for driving under suspension were also made.  Driver awareness and education is a primary goal of the Gage County Sheriff's Office to make our roadways safer for all who use them.
