The office of the Sheriff for the County of Gage has existed since 1857. The Sheriff holds an elected office, which is voted on by the citizens of the county. The Sheriff is elected to a four year term and he or she may serve additional terms if re-elected by the citizens.

On 09-12-2012, at approximately 1945 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, Cortland Fire and QRT, Clatonia Rescue, and Beatrice Rescue responded to a two vehicle injury accident at Highway 77 and Apple Road.
