The office of the Sheriff for the County of Gage has existed since 1857. The Sheriff holds an elected office, which is voted on by the citizens of the county. The Sheriff is elected to a four year term and he or she may serve additional terms if re-elected by the citizens.

On Thursday November 5, 2009 at approximately 5:10 pm, 45 year old Barry E. Vilda of Beatrice walked up to the front door of the Gage County Sheriff’s Office with a pry bar and broke out the glass.

In an effort to reduce the inconvenience to those involved in accidents, and adding to our philosophy of providing better service to our community, the Gage County Sheriff's Office has contracted with PoliceReports.US, LLC to implement a new online program for obtaining copies of traffic accident reports.
