The office of the Sheriff for the County of Gage has existed since 1857. The Sheriff holds an elected office, which is voted on by the citizens of the county. The Sheriff is elected to a four year term and he or she may serve additional terms if re-elected by the citizens.

Injury Accident 1/2 Mile East of the Ellis Blacktop on West Scott Road

On October 13th, 2009 at approximately 2:25 pm, Gage County Communications advised Gage County Sheriffs Deputies of a single vehicle injury accident on West Scott Road approximately ½ mile east of the Ellis blacktop.

Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing

On October 11, 2009 at approximately 2030 hours, Beatrice Communications received a report from the FAA advising that they had received a report of an aircraft that had landed on a county road approximately eight miles south of Beatrice due to engine problems.

On Tuesday October 6, 2009 the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, Pickrell QRTs, Beatrice Fire and Rescue, and Star Care Air Ambulance responded to a one vehicle rollover accident that occurred approximately ¼ mile north of Chestnut Road on Highway 77.

On October 3, 2009, Gage County Communications received a 911 call from an unknown male caller who stated that he was planning on harming himself and others. 

Meth Lab Located at Between Gage and Apple Roads on SW 142nd Road

OFFENSE:  Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, Transporting Anhydrous Ammonia in an Unauthorized Container, Littering

On September 30th, 2009, Gage County Communications advised Sheriff’s deputies of a possible methamphetamine lab in the ditch on SW 142nd Road between Gage and Apple Roads.

Missing Person Search Continues

On September 8th, 2009, the Gage County Sheriff's Office received information from the Crime Stoppers hotline that the vehicle belonging to missing person Ann Marie Kelley could possibly be located in a sand pit in northern Gage County.

On September 4th, 2009, the Gage County Sheriff's Office received information indicating a possible sighting of Ann M Kelly, a missing person, in Rawlins, Wyoming. 

Grants Received

Under:

On 7/25/09, the Gage County Sheriff's Office's Crime Scene Unit received a grant from Pamida in the amount of $500.  On 8/7/09, the Gage County Sheriff's Office's Crime Scene Unit received a grant from Walmart in the amount of $1,000.  These monies will be used for new equipment and updating the Gage County Special Response Unit.  The Gage County Sheriff's Office would like to thank Pamida and Walmart for their generous donation and for helping make Gage County a safer, better place to live.
