The office of the Sheriff for the County of Gage has existed since 1857. The Sheriff holds an elected office, which is voted on by the citizens of the county. The Sheriff is elected to a four year term and he or she may serve additional terms if re-elected by the citizens.

On October 11, 2009 at approximately 2030 hours, Beatrice Communications received a report from the FAA advising that they had received a report of an aircraft that had landed on a county road approximately eight miles south of Beatrice due to engine problems.

Grants Received
Posted on Tue, 09/15/2009 - 3:23pm Under:On 7/25/09, the Gage County Sheriff's Office's Crime Scene Unit received a grant from Pamida in the amount of $500. On 8/7/09, the Gage County Sheriff's Office's Crime Scene Unit received a grant from Walmart in the amount of $1,000. These monies will be used for new equipment and updating the Gage County Special Response Unit. The Gage County Sheriff's Office would like to thank Pamida and Walmart for their generous donation and for helping make Gage County a safer, better place to live.
