Work schedule and shifts will vary and may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Starting pay for part-time Corrections Officers is $10.00 per hour. Applicants must be 19 years old with a high school diploma or GED. No felony convictions. Valid driver’s license. Pre-placement psychological testing and a physical will be conducted. Applicants will be required to pass a written exam and background check prior to interviews.

Old JailWhen William Jackson “Jack” Marion was hanged for murder March 25, 1885, he took to the grave the knowledge of what really happened to John Cameron. What he didn’t know was that he would go down in history as the last person officially hanged in Gage County as well as in the State of Nebraska. A copy of the actual death warrant served by Sheriff Nathaniel Herron is on file at the Gage County Historical Society Museum in Beatrice.
