"You Drink & Drive, You Lose" Mini-grant

The Gage County Sheriff's Office was selected to participate in the national DUI “You Drink and Drive, You Lose” campaign.  The dates of the grant period were from August 29, 2011 through September 5, 2011.  The mini-grant was sponsored by the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.  Numerous full-time deputies participated in the grant.  All overtime and road patrol miles will be reimbursed to Gage County.  During this period, 15 traffic citations and 22 traffic warnings were issued; two motorists were arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol; one was arrested on a drug offense; and 16 were arrested for outstanding warrants.  Driver awareness and education are the primary goals of the Gage County Sheriff's Office to make our roadways safer for all who use them.
